So as mentioned previously, we have no kitchen in our house. As some of you may know from reading previous posts we recently headed off to Vancouver in a truck to get our new IKEA kitchen. Well that kitchen is now in our house…
… in boxes stacked up in the dining room, pretty much making the dining room useless. Our old kitchen on the other hand is still largely in one piece – stacked up outside under a tarp. What is left is a big empty room where the kitchen and old bathroom used to be. So that pretty much makes the kitchen useless as well.
The good news is that there is a kitchen in our cottage (as allowed by Salt Spring Land Use Bylaw 355 section 3.12.4, for anyone who is concerned that I may be admitting to a heinous crime on line!). We tried living in the cottage full time, but its too much like being on vacation, so now our routine involves sleeping and working in the house, but eating (and sometimes bathing) in the cottage.
Next on the agenda is taking care of all the fiddly bits and pieces that need to happen before I can re-paint the walls and re-finish the floor. And then we can start to get our new kitchen where is should be…
