Leaving Vancouver was easy – even easier than I expected.
As I set off with the car packed to the rafters, Yoda – one of the two distressed cats wailed. Poor things probably thought they were going to the vet. I stopped to wave to the movers, to Duncan, took one last look at our gorgeous house, our fabulous view and drove off.
I surprised even myself. I felt nothing. No pangs of regret, no gut-wrenching “what have we done?”, not even any sadness. In fact there was just relief.
I couldn’t wait to get ‘home’ to Salt Spring Island.
