September is normally a month of abundance in the garden – the hard work of tilling, planting, weeding etc begins to tail off, and we can harvest all the bounty. One thing that is noticeable this year is that normally we have been getting a steady supply of all the good stuff since July/August, but this year its only really been the last few weeks that things have gotten really plentiful.
There's nothing like growing food for putting you completely in touch with the seasons and the year to year variations in the weather.
And if I think its hard to keep on top of what might happen in my veg patch in any given year, I can't imagine what its like for anyone trying to make a living at growing food….
Anyway, the collection of goodies that Emma picked looks great, so I thought the least I could do is post a picture!
