So I know I keep claiming the the cottage is finished, but there are always those final touches. With the aim of launching Cosy Woodpecker Cottage as a B&B providing Salt Spring accommodation this May it's time to get the last few things of the list.
One of the biggest tasks was tiling the back-splash in the kitchen – up until now the walls have just been painted. After a trip to the big island to order the tiles (which turned out to be a little more expensive than planned when I got busted for speeding on the way back to the ferry), and another trip to collect the tiles, I had no more excuses. With smaller tiles and 9 colours to randomize onto the wall it seemed like a big task. But with a good tile saw from Rental Stop and 6 solid hours of tiling, the first step was complete.
It's certainly colourful – can't wait to see what it looks like once the grout is done – and I will be sure to post and update when it is!
Too bad about the speeding ticket 🙁 but the tiles are bril!
