Hiking with a Donkey!
Well, that's a new one for me! So, it's a glorious Saturday afternoon in February and we headed off in Sacha and Dave's pick-up truck towing a donkey (in a horsebox…).
We hiked up to Reginald Hill (the best views on Salt Spring Island) and then back along the coastline. We had tea, chocolate brownies and cookies at the top of the hill while Pancho (the donkey) got some feed and Dexter (the dog) got whatever everyone else left!
I couldn't believe how well-behaved Dexter was with a donkey companion. Pancho carried our backpacks and food – was hilarious and amazingly agile, scooting up and down some pretty steep/sheer rocky outcrops.
Spent the evening recovering with some home-made wine in the hot-tub. THIS is the life!
